Occupy Your Mind with Calm

Mary Jaksch writes the Goodlife Zen blog, and this post is especially meaningful in respects to achieving zenity.

Anxiousness, negativity, overwhelmed, all these feelings can burst into your mind in a split second. Two vital traits for handling these feelings is to develop the ability to 1) instantly recognize when they spark in your mind, and 2) just as quickly take the mental and physical time needed to return your mind back to a calm state. The more you train your mind to return to calm, the harder it will be for such feelings to take your mind out of being calm. That's zenity.

Peace from Anxiety (ZenWorlds ZenCasts)

Worry, stress, and anxiety are perhaps the three top things I hope to help you handle much better than you ever have, by helping you achieve zenity. Of course, this blog is not the only place you can turn to for this help. ZenWorlds ZenCasts is one such place, and I highly recommend it. Since it's an audio program, you can close your eyes and focus your mind on her voice alone, and perhaps achieve a much better result than can be had from reading. She also sometimes uses visual items for focus, such as in this edition. Either way, I say add ZenWorlds to your online zen list. Namaste.

ZenWorlds VidCast #35 is a meditation designed to help you manage anxiety. Everyone's experience is different when experiencing anxiety. This process activates your body's fight or flight response. Well, we're not being chased by dinosaurs anymore, but there are plenty of things in your environment that can trigger a short mini panic (oh I lost my keys) or a more intense and long anxiety attack. For those that manage their own anxiety or meditate in addition to other methods, this meditation is for you.
